Expanding Our Mission – Partnership with Lushomo Trust Dani’s Home

Mission Zambia Stake Pool is excited to announce a new chapter in our mission of supporting vulnerable children in Zambia. While we continue our work at Garden Masjid Boys’ Orphanage, we have extended our helping hand to Lushomo Trust Dani’s Home in Livingstone—the tourist capital of Zambia.

About Dani’s Home

Lushomo Trust Dani’s Home is a safe house for girls who have been rescued or are seeking refuge from abusive environments. Currently, about 25 girls, ranging from preschool age to secondary school, are under their care. These young girls carry heavy stories, and yet they also carry immense hope for a better tomorrow.

First Steps – Renovation of the Storeroom

We began our work here with a practical project—renovating their storeroom, where they keep food and kitchen supplies. Once again, we are committed to transparent accountability, and proof of payments and photo evidence of the work are available for review.

Supporting Psychological Needs

When we first engaged with the Trust, they told us their biggest challenge: the girls lack access to professional psychological support and counseling. For children who have endured trauma, this support is vital.

We are working to operationalize regular visits from trained counselors based at the Livingstone Central Hospital’s One Stop Center. To begin this process, a formal request from the Trust is being prepared, and we are actively facilitating the connection to make this a reality.

Adopting the Therapy Room

The home has a therapy room where the girls gather for social and entertainment activities. We have adopted this room, and our vision is to transform it into a safe, welcoming space for counseling sessions. We’ve already begun repainting and decorating it with murals, and we look forward to updating you on its progress.

Upcoming Project – Kitchen Renovation

Another major need we identified is the renovation of the home’s kitchen. The current facility is worn down and in need of improvement, and we are committed to making this project a reality.

A Word of Thanks

We extend our deepest gratitude to our delegators. Your faith in Mission Zambia Stake Pool allows us to expand our reach and impact. Every smile, every restored sense of dignity, every step forward for these children is possible because of your support.

You are the heart of this mission. Together, we are changing lives.
